Megan Kwok- Edmonton Zone Lead
Hey everyone! My name is Megan and I'm SUPER thrilled to be serving as an Edmonton zone lead for FGEN!!! Next year, I will be at MacEwan University studying nursing! My reason for joining the FGEN team is primarily because of my undying love for my very dear friend Bisola but also because I’m a strong advocate for educating the youth that will lead our future generations.
Mayher Grewal- Edmonton Zone Lead
Hello! My name is Mayher Grewal and I am a student at the University of Alberta studying Neuroscience. I was inspired to join FGEN due to the meaningful impact awareness about the brain can have on young learners. The brain is a fundamental part of the body, shaping how we think and interact with the world around us. I hope to spark curiosity by showcasing how fascinating the brain can be. I look forward to increasing accessibility to this information and helping students discover their passion for neuroscience. I am eager to explore neuroscience further and apply it to the healthcare space. In my personal time, I enjoy baking and going on nature walks!
Bisola Akintunde- Founder
Hi! my name is Bisola, and I am the Founder of FGEN (Future Generation), an initiative dedicated to making neuroscience engaging and accessible for children and youth. I'm a Life Sciences student on the Neuroscience Specialist pathway at the University of Toronto. My passion for neuroscience inspired me to self-publish Your Brain Is Way More Amazing Than You Actually Think, which was reviewed by University of Alberta neurology professors. Through FGEN, I hope to inspire the next generation to discover the incredible potential of the brain and foster a lifelong curiosity for science and mental well-being. Outside of FGEN, I enjoy singing, songwriting, and playing instruments!

Hailey Lee
Hi! I’m Hailey, and I’m so excited to be an executive at FGEN!! I am a Grade 12 student studying at Strathcona High School. This organization caught my eye because I wanted to help excite students about how fascinating our brains really are and how vital it is for our daily lives. Through FGEN, I aspire to make neuroscience more available and comprehensible for students. For my future, I hope to further my education in Neuroscience and to pursue a career in Clinical Neuroscience. Outside of academics, I like playing badminton, going out with my friends, and walking my two dogs.
Param Yadav
Hey! My name is Param, and I am a Grade 11 student attending Strathcona High School. Some of my hobbies and interests include playing sports, learning piano, and going out with friends. I joined FGEN because I am passionate about neuroscience, mental health awareness, and encouraging younger students to gain interest in learning about the brain. After graduating high school, I hope to pursue a career in medicine, with a particular interest in neuroscience and neurosurgery. In school, I enjoy science courses, especially biology and chemistry, and I am always looking for opportunities to develop my leadership and communication skills. Through FGEN, I am excited to educate younger students, improve my public speaking abilities, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that will encourage students to pursue learning more about the brain in the future.
Aleeza Saqib
Hello, my name is Aleeza Saqib. I am an incoming 11th-grade student at Lillian Osborne High School. I am extremely passionate about exploring how humans process the world around us, which is why I am integrating myself with studying neuroscience. Beyond the sciences, I am an artistic person who channels creativity into crocheting and painting. I'm also an avid reader and writer who loves writing poetry and novellas. I wanted to join FGEN to make a meaningful difference for curious children, just like I was when my own spark for learning first took root. I know how powerful encouragement can be, and I am thrilled to inspire that same sense of wonder in others while collaborating with the FGEN community!

Hi! My name is Shefali Stephen. I am 15 years old, and in grade 11 at Strathcona High School. I am really passionate about healthcare, women's health , research and making knowledge more accessible! I love reading, watching movies, and volunteering in my spare time! I also love learning about pretty much anything and acquiring new skills! I hope to study medicine in the future and make changes in the field of women's health and research! I want to volunteer at FGEN because it provides an opportunity to teach so many people about a field I am really passionate about, and make an actual difference!
Adhrit Garg
Hi, my name is Adhrit, and I am a grade 11 student attending Strathcona Composite High School. FGEN is an amazing organization dedicated to building the future generation, and I am so thankful to be able to be a part of the executive team and help us achieve FGEN's dream, to build a future generation that is completely educated on how to use the brain to its fullest potential. For the future, I aim to go into engineering, and more specifically, aerospace engineering. Building a rocket ship that could potentially take us to mars, or even out of this solar system is a dream of mine. I am absolutely fascinated about space, and I love to build and tinker with things. Some other hobbies that I like to do are swimming, playing badminton, and participating in the Cadet program.
